Al's world: June 2010

A lovely day with a long walk in barkers rd forest. Maggie sat in a few puddles. When we all sat down in a patch of sun with her we discovered to our horror that we'd picked up a few blood sucking leeches... Creepy slimy things. Mag and Kate had a couple each that we could find while we were out. Maggie went to bed plumb tuckered out when we got home. We found her later with blood splatterings on her paws and spraying as she sneezed. A big fat leach huddled at the wall beside her... Simon disposed of the leach, Kate cleaned up Maggie and the floor... And tried to look up maggies nose- goodness knows how that fat old leech squeezed out, I know they are tiny when the latch on... All was well though, drinks and snacks for all the sleepy family and a DVD in bed. A perfect rainy afternoon.
